Student artists honored with recognition awards

Clarkston Foundation for Public Education honored young artists with Student Recognition Awards in Performing Arts and Visual Arts, April 15.
“I really admire you for all the imagination and all the time you spend on your craft,” said Superintendent Dr. Rod Rock. “The skills you learn will help you academically and in life.”
State Rep. Jim Tedder said he appreciates the students’ intrinsic motivation on display in their artwork.
Performing Arts Award winners included students Charlie Lussenhop and Maureen Stewart, 10th grade; Evan Maconochie and Stephanie Sowers, 11th grade; Amanda Beaune and Matthew Hart, 12th grade; Lauren Pletcher and Samantha Stanek, eighth grade; Evan Hall and Benjamin Neideck, ninth grade; Allison Brakke and Emma Woodworth, sixth grade; and Nathaniel Fender and Lauren Gothard, seventh grade.
Receiving Visual Arts Awards were Kristen Lucero and Olivia Plochocki, 10th grade; Olivia Groff and Caymen McDaniel, 11th grade; Emily Grush and Korey Luebbert, 12th grade; Makiyah Jackson and Martin Roe, eighth grade; Sierra Aguilar and Alexandra Simofi-Ilyes, ninth grade; Carson Keilitz and Melody Lebert, sixth grade; and Nathaniel Fender and Samantha Moyet, seventh grade.
