Back to the diamond

The sun shined down on the baseball field for the boys first game of the season at Rochester Adams.
Unfortunately it didn’t shine too brightly as the boys lost the double header games, 14-5 and 4-0.
‘We came out a little nervous,? said Coach Phil Price as he noted it was typical for the first game.
‘Chris Mocerino had a nice day at the plate,? said Price. ‘Nick Cowan made good plate appearances and Vince Siwicki’s second game was a good game.?
Mocerino led the boys during the first game and was 2-for-4 with one home run and 2 RBIs
Chase Toth was 2-for-3 at the plate.
During the second game, Matt Kamieniecki was 2-for-3 and hit a double.
The team has eight returning players and 11 new faces.
Price said returners Luke Prudhomme, Kamieniecki, and Mocerino will carry the team offensively, and their young pitchers will help with their good arms.
‘We’ll get back into the swing from break with practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, with our next game on Thursday,? said Price.
They play a double header at Troy-Athens beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.Then, they host the Annual Roy Warner Classic on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
