Carolyn Carr Lowrie

obit Lowrie, CarolCarolyn Carr Lowrie; of Waterford (formerly of Birmingham and Clarkston); passed away very peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2016; age 90; she was a devoted and loving wife of Richard “Dick” Easton Lowrie who preceded her in death in 2000; They celebrated 56 wonderful years together. She is survived by her five children: Kathy (Jerry) Sebrowski, Richard Jr (Barbara) Lowrie, Charlie (Marilyn) Lowrie, Tom (Tami) Lowrie & Jeannie (Dave) Mallett; ten grandchildren: Katherine (Amanda), Benjamin, Keith, Alexi (Anthony), Olivia (Jeffrey), Jeffrey, Robert (Sarah), Kyle, Carolyn & Ethan; four great grandchildren: Anthony Jr., Evan, Mikah and Dylan; sister of the late Katherine  “Kaki” Whitmer & Mary Alice “Lala” Keilor; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Carolyn Carr was born on February 12, 1926 in Birmingham, MI, the daughter of Charles Daniel Carr and Katherine Biercamp Carr. She attended and graduated from Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, VA in 1944 and married her beloved Navy pilot  Richard E. Lowrie on October 30, 1944 in Falmouth, MA. After the war, they settled in Clarkston where they started their family. Carolyn was an active member of the Episcopal Church, serving on the Alter Guild at various congregations throughout her life.  She was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Clarkston Farm and Garden Club. She was passionate about her family and cherished all her time spent with them. Friends may visit Friday, September 9th from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. Memorial Service Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m.  at St Luke’s Memorial Chapel at Canterbury on the Lake. Inurnment Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Fund at Canterbury on the Lake.
