City Council voted unanimously, March 26, to approve new regulations on driveway sealants in the city.
The new ordinance bans the use and sale of coal-tar-based sealants. It also requires residents to get a one-time permit from the city to apply sealants on their driveways.
City council will set a fee for the permit at a later meeting. The ordinance takes effect 20 days after publication.
