Defense gains ground

Jon Avery and Adam Zak led the boys lacrosse team to their first win.
They both scored four goals for the Monday night victory against Rochester United, 13-4.
Andrew Miller contributed with three goals.
The Wolves lost to Detroit Country Day last Friday night, 7-2.
‘They played pretty well,? said Coach Brian Kaminskas.
After the previous games against Birmingham United and St. Mary’s and their opponents scoring high, the boys blocked Country Day out of the net.
‘They were much better on defense,? said Kaminskas.
Adding to the scoring barriers was Goalie Jeff Turner with 22 saves.
‘He did a good job on the net and clearing the ball,? said Kaminskas.
Kaminskas noticed another player that stood out during the game.
‘Kevin Giaier played an exceptional game and led the way.?
Forbes Dever scored the first goal and Avery added the next one. The team made a total of 19 shots on goal.
They will play Grand Blanc on Wednesday.
