A Mother’s Wish of Oakland County received $2,500 for its fight against breast cancer, Dec. 21, thanks to Clarkston’s Football For A Cure.
The Clarkston High School Wolves and the Lake Orion Dragons joined forces during the charity game, Oct. 12, to help cancer survivors.
Funds raised from the annual fund-raiser game went to the McLaren Oakland Foundation, also helping to ease non-medical expenses for cancer survivors at Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Clarkston and Bloomfield offices.
The combined efforts of both communities raised just over $43,000.
“The McLaren Oakland Foundation would like to thank the communities of both Clarkston Community Schools and Lake Orion Community Schools for their support in making this amazing event happen,” said Carrie Wheeler, manager specialty services for McLaren Clarkston.
