Louise Bisogni of Clarkston, a 60-year member of Psi Chapter of Sigma Beta philanthropic sorority, was honored recently at the Sigma Beta National Convention in Clearwater Beach, Fla., with the 2016 Sigma Beta Honorary Member Award.
Bisogni was the 14th recipient to receive this award in the organization’s 93 year history.
Sorority chapter officers for 2017-2018 were also named – President Carol O’Neil of Flushing, Vice President Louise Bisogni of Clarkston, Recording Secretary Dawn Mio of Highland, Charity Chairman Sandra Kitchen of Holly, Treasurer Judy Wood of Clarkston, and Corresponding Secretary Jessica McDonald of Clarkston.
They are helping prepare and furnish a house for six women who were victims of human sex trafficking, the Sanctum House, at fundraisers including a Chili Cook Off and a Free Flow Festival at Belle Isle in Detroit.
Other projects include sending $500 in diapers and wipes to the children flood victims in Texas, and a $500 donation to the new Clarkston Lighthouse facility.
