For their variety show Friday, April 28, a group of Springfield Plains Elementary students performed an angelic act to “Stand by You” by Rachel Platten.
“The show provided compassion, friendship, a strong message of acceptance and community. There was not a dry eye in the house,” said parent volunteer Kelsey Metzger. “The family members of the special needs children were overwhelmed by the performance – an amazing bunch of elementary children.”.
Eighteen girls performed with four special-needs children with disabilities, hearing and verbal impairments and Down syndrome.
