The heartwarming service took place on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. Special thanks to Clarkston Community Church for their beautiful church and many gracious members who assisted behind the scenes, our grief counselor Jon Richey for speaking and our soloist Matthew Duncan and his accompanist Rick Haines.

Holiday surprise from Clarkston Post Office

Dear Editor,
I was in the Clarkston Post Office a few days before Christmas and had to mail out dozens of pictures for the holiday.
I purchased a bunch of stamps at the counter and went to the counter near the door and started applying the stamps to the mailers.
After a bit of time the woman running the additional register came over and started helping me place stamps on envelopes.
Near the end I determined I did not have enough $1 stamps and bought 10 more. We finished up, I thanked her and I left.
A few days after Christmas, I got a plain envelope addressed to me. I opened it and found nine $1 stamps along with a note from the Post Office employee saying she found these stamps after I left.
Wow, what a surprise! Thank you to the Post Office and specifically one of their employees.
