New M-15 name honors Dep. Overall

Before finishing their terms in office, state Rep. Jim Tedder (R-Independence Twp.) and Gov. Rick Snyder succeeded in renaming part of M-15 to honor fallen Oakland County Deputy Eric Overall.
Tedder sponsored HB 5672 to rename M-15, from I-75 to the Genesee County border, the Deputy Eric Overall Memorial Highway. It was signed into law on Dec. 28.
“This highway renaming will honor Deputy Eric Overall and the tremendous impact he had on the community,” said Tedder of Clarkston. “Deputy Overall made a commitment to protect the public and his legacy must not be forgotten.”
Overall was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 23, 2017, during a police pursuit that originated in Lapeer County. He was a 22-year veteran of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and was 50 years old when he was killed.
