The City of the Village of Clarkston and the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy are collaborating to restore the wetlands at Depot Park.
Three years ago, Clarkston began controlling phragmites around Middle Lake. The city hired a contractor to treat the remaining phragmites this past fall.
Krista Hughes, an independent contractor paid by NOHLC and funded by individual public donations, worked to cut off the seed heads last week to stop the spread of the invasive species, said Emily Duthinh of NOHLC.
