Dan Nestorovski , owner of Pizza Dolce in Independence Township, is expanding with a new restaurant off Dixie Highway.
His new Revival Eatery restaurant will feature the culinary talents of Chef Chad Barrett and Chef Matt Bray, Clarkston High School class of 2003 graduate.
Nestorovski opened Pizza Dolce at 7743 Sashabaw Road six years ago.
“It’s been going great,” he said. “We’re looking to do something different. I’ve been making pizza for 20 years. This is a different venture.”
Revival Eatery will offer modern American cuisine, Barrett said.
“Comfort food with an upscale twist,” he said.
“Familiar flavors with different flavor profiles,” Bray said.
Offerings will include Duck Poutine, the traditionally Canadian dish of fries served with gravy.
With their chocolate truffle spoon, the whole dish will be edible.
“You can eat the spoon,” Bray said.
They will feature Michigan products, including Better Made pretzels and Vernors barbecue sauce, and pastries made from scratch.
“Everything is fresh,” Barrett said. “We only use the freezer for ice cream.”
Barrett, a resident of Royal Oak, also brings his recent experience on the Food Network show Guy’s Grocery Games. He competed in Season 12, Episode 8, on Feb. 19, and won.
“I am proof that hard work pays off. Growing up poor and raised by my single mother I had to get a job early on, which happened to turn into a wonderful career for me,” he said. “I started out as a dishwasher at 14 years old and worked my way up through the ranks, soaking up all the information I could to become successful.”
After he returned to Michigan, he met with Nestorovski to talk about the Revival restaurant.
“We met for just a few minutes and I hired him on the spot,” the restaurant owner said. “We share the same vision for the restaurant, and where we want to go in the future.”
Grand opening is Tuesday, April 4.
