Strikers bowl over competition at meets

Varsity bowlers split their week and won their first tournament while JV Boys won both of their meets.
The teams started their season last Wednesday against North Farmington. Both boys teams won, varsity 19-11 and JV 28-2. The girls varsity team won 28-2.
‘It’s still early in the year, but the girls were better than expected,? said Bowling Club Liason Rodney Pierson.
Stephanie Lavely bowled 208 in 385 series.
The varsity teams continued the week with their first tournament hosted by Farmington. Both teams took first place. Highlights came from Pat Zuker and Alice Meyer.
Zuker bowled 289 in 715 series and Meyer bowled 222.
Farmington-Harrison was right behind them in the tournament and the Wolves saw them again on Monday night.
‘Harrison was on today,? said Pierson.
Both of the varsity team lost, the boys 22-8 and the girls 17 ? – 12 ? . Caitlyn Stebbins bowled 221 and 191 in 412 series.
‘The girls found the importance of spare shooting from today,? said Pierson.
The boys highlights were from Zuker, Nick Cooper, and Paul Anderson.
Zuker bowled 212 and 225 for 437 series, Cooper bowled 222 and 200 in 422 series and Anderson bowled a 224 game.
The boys JV team won 19-11.
The bowlers will host Hazel Park in their first home meet of the season on Wednesday. It will start at 3:45 p.m. and Cherry Hills North.
