The search for jewelry store robbery suspect Jimmie Walker Jr. has come to an end. U.S. Marshals and Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Walker in Hamtramck and he was booked into Oakland County Jail on Jan. 13.
Walker, 50, of Detroit was sought in the armed robbery of Clarkston Jewelry Outlet, Dec. 17. Walker is one of two suspects in the case.
Roy-Lee Jeffrey Genright, 48, of Detroit was found and taken into custody the night of the robbery, near the water tower northwest of the intersection of Dixie Highway and White Lake Road.
The second suspect got away, fleeing across Middle Lake, which was frozen. An OCSO K-9 picked up the track on the other side of the lake, which led to a home in the 6000 block of Middle Lake Road. The suspect entered an attached garage and stole a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which had the keys in it. The homeowners were not home at the time.
Walker has been charged with 12 felonies in 52-2 District Court, including several counts of armed robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, assault less than murder, vehicle theft, and home invasion. He is being held in Oakland County Jail on $500,000 bond.
He was paroled in November 2015, after serving part of a 5-40 year sentence for armed robbery in Detroit.
