Goodrich – The Goodrich beautification project isn’t blossoming.Consumers Energy poles have been placed in the middle of the new landscaping, says Goodrich Village Administrator Jakki Sidge, ‘right in the black-eyed Susans.?
The landscaping was recently completed in the southern end of the village along M-15 near Nu-View Auto Glass. During project planning, village officials found some Consumers Energy poles could be eliminated, particularly utility poles spaced close together or located dangerously near traffic lanes. Consumers workers have now re-installed both poles and wires, said Sidge.While changes may have been warranted, Sidge wants Consumers to check with the village before any more poles are installed.
The most recent phase of the beautification project, which took place in 2003, features attractive bridges, benches, streetlights, waste receptacles, trees, new sidewalk ramps and landscaped ‘islands.?
