Well, it’s just one game.
That’s what Coach Val Cerato has to be telling her team after a grueling 7-0 loss to the Linden Eagles on May 7. Linden is the only team in the league to remain undefeated in league play.
‘It was not a happy ending,? said Cerato following the loss.
The game was not a total defeat though. The Lady Cats were able to hang tough in the first half, only allowing Linden’s high powered offense one goal, and the play ‘went back and forth? according to Cerato. However, the team fell apart in the second half, allowing the opposition six unanswered goals.
‘Our defense – and not just the defenders – but our defense in general, midfielders, weren’t marking up like they should have been (in the second half),? Cerato explained.
Inconsistency is another problem that has plagued the team seemingly from day one. According to Cerato, her team seems to have trouble keeping up a high level of play throughout an entire game. The trended would see one half the team play well, and then fall apart in the next half of the game.
‘We have got to start stringing those halves together,? Cerato affirmed.
