Goodrich-The village Ok’d the purchase of a 2005 GMC heavy duty truck during a special council meeting Dec. 20. Total cost of the truck was $69,000.
The purchase comes after the City of Flint refused delivery of about 10 vehicles ordered from a local dealership. A representive of Hank Graff Chevrolet contacted several municpalities, including Goodrich regarding the sale of the trucks.
‘We were looking at purchasing a smaller truck however, it was not going to ready until the spring of 2005,? said Jakki Sidge, village administrator.
The trucks are equipped for snow removal with a front plow, undercarriage plow and dump box.
The Goodrich Department of Public Works now has three trucks for snow removal in addition to a road grader.
