Ortonville- Wanted: A village resident to fill a vacant council seat.
The village council is short one member after Mary Kassuba resigned her seat Oct. 5. The remaining councilmembers confirmed at their Oct. 12 meeting that they are seeking someone to appoint to the position.
The appointee will serve until the November 2010 election, at which time voters will elect someone to a partial term to end in November 2012.
Contact the village office or a councilmember to express interest in being appointed to the vacant seat. Council President Ken Quisenberry said there is no need to fill out an application or essay at this time.
A majority of the board must approve an appointee.
