Almost 40 restaurants will present their best entrees and desserts at the 16th Annual Taste of Clarkston, 12-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, downtown.
One of Clarkston’s most popular events, the festival will fill downtown Main, Church, and Washington streets as well as Depot Park.
The event also includes live music, children’s games, and exhibitors, with free parking at local schools and free shuttle bus service to downtown.
Sponsored by many area businesses, the event is hosted by Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce, Independence Township Parks and Recreation, and the City of the Village of Clarkston.
Taste of Clarkston supports causes like Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County My Habitat Clarkston, Women Build Habitat for Humanity and Blessings in a Backpack, Friends of Ryan Kennedy, Easter Seals and more.
Some other fun events include live music, Kidzone games and tons of exhibits and crafts. Kids activities include a bounce house, face painting, crafts, archery, carnival games and much more. Radio Disney entertainment will be held on Main Street by the Washington Parking lot from 1:30-3:00 p.m.
Parents can also have their children participate in the Child ID program at the Mason’s Lodge on Main Street. The ID program provides a free kit that includes a fingerprint card, a physical description, a video, a computer disk, a DVD of the child a dental imprint and a DNA sample.
Taste tickets for the event are available onsite at three ticket booths. Each ticket can be purchased for $1 and food at the restaurants participating cost from $1-$10 each.
Shuttle parking is available from several locations including Clarkston Elementary, Clarkston High School and Clarkston Junior High School. Shuttle begin running at 11:30 a.m.
Also, look for Lions Club Beer Tent in the Washington Street parking lot; Classic Car Show in The Clarkston News parking lot on Washington Street; and Wine Tent and Wine Garden, sponsored by the Clarkston Rotary, in Morgan’s parking lot, off Church Street
