Reports of zombies lumbering along the Polly Ann Trail last week were forwarded to the Oxford Leader by frightened readers.
But fear not, the undead have not risen from their graves to feast upon the supple flesh of the living ? at least not yet anyway.
This gaggle of approximately 40 ghouls was part of the Oxford High School Zombie Walk for Autism.
Organized by OHS seniors Megan Kerin and Hope McColl, the event raised approximately $400 for two very worthy causes.
The first is an alternative prom for high school students with special needs to be held April 26 at the new site of Merge Studio & Gallery, which is in the process of relocating to 33 Pleasant St.
This prom, which is being coordinated by Kerin and McColl, is open to all special education students in grades 9-12 from Oxford and surrounding school districts such as Lake Orion, Brandon, Lapeer and Clarkston.
Corner Pieces, a Sault Ste. Marie-based nonprofit dedicated to helping Michigan families dealing with autism, was the other beneficiary of the Zombie Walk.
