Two in serious crash

Groveland Township-On Wednesday, Sept. 3, Michigan State Police Trooper Richard Sancez was dispatched to an injury traffic crash on Kier Road, just east of Oakhill Road at approximately 3:30 a.m.
The driver, an 18-year old female resident of Davisburg, was immediately rushed to Genesys Regional Hospital in critical condition. The passenger, a 22-year old female from Holly was extricated shortly afterwards and was also taken to Genesys Regional Hospital listed in serious condition.
Although officers do not know the exact cause of the crash, they do know the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed west-bound on Kier Road in her 1992 red Chevrolet Corsica. She lost control of the vehicle, slid sideways and went up an embankment. This caused her vehicle to become airborne, then roll to the right. The vehicle then struck a tree causing the vehicle to be split in two coming to rest on its right side against the second tree.
Troopers arrived on the scene within minutes of the extrication of the driver by Groveland Township Fire and Rescue, who used the Jaws of Life to release the passenger from the car.
Also assisting with the crash were Oakland County Deputies from the Springfield sub station helping with the initial traffic control.
