One of the many events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic was the summer SCAMP program.
The organization still wanted to do something special for their campers so they held a drive-through ice cream social for them at the Clarkston Community Schools Administration Building, July 28.
A DJ played music as many came out to wave to the SCAMPers as they drove through. The SCAMPers received a goody bag and a tasty ice cream treat.
“We are so excited to be able to do something for SCAMPers,” said Aimee Baker, Executive Director. “We miss them and feel badly as they do the camp had to be cancelled. I think the staff needs to see them as much as they need to see us.”
Special thanks to the David W. Elliot Memorial Foundation, the Welker family, Megan and Rick Nini and John Spokaeski.
“We are so grateful to the Independence Township Fire Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s Department for coming out here. We are already working hard to plan for the 2021 season.
