A warm welcome

For a group of visitors in town from the other side of the world, one device symbolized the latest technology America has to offer ? a pop machine offering dozens of choices at the press of a button.
‘I’m from America and that pop machine amazes me,? said customer Carol Goldsmith.
The machine was a big hit with the Key of Hope Children’s Choir from Durban, Africa at the Clarkston Wendy’s, 7149 Dixie Highway,
Wendy’s welcomed the group for a free lunch, and the kids could order anything they wanted off the menu.
Kids raved about the pop machine as well as the burgers, chicken sandwiches and French fries. After lunch, Wendy’s staff invited the kids up to the counter to try out the famous Frosty.
The kids in the choir enjoyed their fast food experience in Clarkston. Cherry Hill Lanes North in Clarkston gave the kids free bowling before they visited Wendy’s for lunch.
Staff at Wendy’s went all out for the kids. In addition top being attentive and asking if they needed anything, the staff decorated the restaurant with balloons to welcome the group.
Kids also performed on of their songs for the staff and customers at Wendy’s.
Clarkston owners of the Wendy’s said inviting the group in for their first fast food experience is something that falls in line with ‘Dave’s Legacy? a group of five principles Thomas created to run the franchise in the best way possible.
Dave’s Legacy includes Quality is Our Recipe, Do the Right Thing, Treat People with Respect, Profit is not a Dirty Word and Give Something Back.
Giving something back is a big focus of management and employees at the store.
Clarkston Wendy’s was voted by the Clarkston community as the Best Fast Food Restaurant in Clarkston. In 2013, the Clarkston location also won the ‘Give Something Back? reward for their work in the community with organizations like Wounded warriors project, employee and restaurant donations for Neighbor for Neighbor in Davisburg.
The restaurant also host fundraising events in which 15 percent of all sales is donated to a good cause.
