Arrest made in school assault

Brandon Twp.- On Thursday afternoon Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 27-year-old male in connection with the alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old female student during a detention period at Brandon High School.
Two warrants were issued Feb. 26 for the arrest of the former Brandon High School detention supervisor in connection with the alleged assault Monday, Feb. 16.
He will be arraigned before Judge Dana Fortinberry of 52-2 District Court in Clarkston on Feb. 27.
Fortinberry issued the warrants for criminal Sexual Conduct Three, a 15-year felony for sexual penetration and Criminal Sexual Conduct four, a two-year misdemeanor.
The suspect, a Shiawassee County resident had no prior conviction, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Tim McIsaac of the Brandon Township substation of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department said Brandon High School officials took all the right steps to deal with the situation.
‘The school has really cooperated with the Sheriff’s Department,? he said. ‘They reported it immediately and took appropriate action.?
As of Feb. 26, McIssac said no other students came forward to report any allegations against the alleged perpetrator..
The detention supervisor resigned within 24 hours after the student reported the incident to school authorities, according to information released by the Brandon school district.
Although, a licensed teacher, he was working as a hourly employee in the Brandon district at the time of the alleged incident.
Brandon school district officials and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department spent the school’s winter break and the weekend conducting an open investigation into the allegations.
A statement released by the district Feb. 23 said the district ‘does not condone nor support the alleged misconduct of the former employee,? and also said the district ‘will take all means necessary to see that justice is brought against this individual and restore proper educational decorum to the In-House (detention) Room.?
