The Brandon High School junior Jessica Laviolette took the grand prize at the 2005 Michigan Science Fair and won a $20,000 scholarship to Kettering University.
Last month, Laviolette won the grand prize at the Science and Engineering Fair of Metropolitan Detroit, as well as seven other first place awards. Her project, ‘Rapid Production of Ethanol by Vacuum Process,? is in the process of being patented.
Her next stop is the International Science and Engineering Fair in Arizona.
