Bowlers continue to improve

Lady Wolves defeated Troy Athens last Wednesday in their bowling match.
The girls didn’t allow Athens ranking in first place to shake them and won, 24-6. The team began by losing the first Baker game, 135-134. Caitlyn Stebbins led the girls and had a 355 series.
During the Oakland County Championship during the weekend, the girls qualified sixth for the step ladder finals out of 27 teams. Ashley Batzer led the team and had a 567 series and 204 game.
They defeated Farmington Hills Mercy in the first round and faced a tough Lakeland High School and finished in a fifth place tie.
“I thought they did a fantastic job,” said Girls Bowling Coach Rodney Pierson. “They qualified with some of the best teams in Oakland County.”
This week the team competes against Royal Oak on Wednesday.
“Their chances look good. Royal Oak can be competitive. They have the same average as us,” said Pierson.
Then they will play in the Tri-County Championship in Troy on Saturday.
“With the strides made as far as a team and growth I look for them to do well and qualify,” said Pierson. “We will set our sights high and make sure we fight to the end.”
