Cagers top league foes in wins

The Wolves bounced back from two losses with three wins last week.
“It was a good week for us,” said Clarkston Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach Tim Wasilk. “I am proud of the kids for playing tough and excited for what the rest of the season will bring for us.”
The Wolves won their game against Southfield Arts & Technology on Friday, 42-37.
Keegan Wasilk led with 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Luke Scherler and Mike DePillo both had six points and four rebounds. Nathan Steinman had five points and six rebounds. Zach Austin had three points and three assists.
Clarkston won their league game against North Farmington on Thursday, 49-39.
Steinman led with 16 points. Wasilk had 11 points and eight assists. Scherler had ten points and nine rebounds and DePillo had seven points and six rebounds.
They opened the week with a 75-59 league win against West Bloomfield, March 1.
Wasilk had 20 points and eight assists. DePillo had 11 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Steinman had 11 points and six rebounds.
Clarkston (9-3, 4-3 OAA Red) hosts Oak Park on Thursday. JV begins at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.
“It should be a good week for us,” Wasilk said. “We are trying to get better every day. We have two weeks until our playoffs start so just trying to prepare – getting better defensively, getting better at our rebounding, and working on executing more efficiently on the offensive end.”
They host Stoney Creek on Saturday. The freshman team plays at 11 a.m., JV at 12:30 p.m., and varsity at 2 p.m.
