Clarkston City Council voted unanimously, Oct. 24, to hire Rich Little as interim city manager.
Compensation is a $100-per-week stipend from Oct. 24 until Dec. 31, 2016, or upon hiring a new city manager.
Little had been volunteering at city hall, along with Steve Percival, resident and candidate for mayor, to help with city administration.
“I’m amazed by how much goes on here, the interaction with people,” he said. “There’s a lot of activity here.”
“Thank you Rich for your service to the city so far,” said Mayor Protem Eric Haven.
Little said he is available until late January.
“We should have someone in place by then,” he said.
As interim city manager, Little reported to City Council sidewalk repairs have been mostly completed.
“We’re making some good progress,” he said. “We’ll try to complete them by Halloween.”
