In September, 2,159 vehicles paid for parking in the municipal parking lot at Main and Washington streets, for a total of $5,277, a 25 percent decrease from August and a 11 percent decrease from September 2018.
No citations were written in September, as the city is still seeking to hire an additional parking ambassador. The current officer is on medical leave, said City Manager Jonathan Smith.
“Unfortunately, recent discussions with two candidates did not pan out,” Smith said. “An updated job posting has been placed on the city website (Villageofclarkston.org) and in the next two editions of The Clarkston News.
