With winter now in full swing, city residents are reminded that city ordinances prohibit parking on a city street or in a city-owned parking lot from 2-6 a.m. from Dec. 1 to April 1.
This ordinance is in place to facilitate overnight snow plowing.
The Oakland County Sheriff patrols the streets and will issue $75 citations if warranted. If the vehicle remains, the sheriff may tow and impound the vehicle.
Sidewalks in front of homes and businesses must be shoveled within 24 hours of snow falls of two inches or more.
