CLARKSTON — Sara Holden’s recent creation, a second part to “#Momlife,” premieres this Friday, Sept. 20 at MJR Waterford Cinema.
Holden, a Clarkston resident, is a double for actresses in television shows and movies as well as a stunt performer.
She filmed the first part of “#Momlife,” a 7-minute short film in which she performed her first car flip stunt. The film received many accolades and won a couple of awards in the film festival circuit.
Holden shared that she knew for part two of “#Momlife,” she wanted to dive more into the characters and give some backstory on their lives.
“My screenwriter, who wrote part one, wasn’t available so I decided to just write it myself,” she said. “I was working on a film in Portland. I had the day off so I locked myself in my hotel room all day and wrote the entire script.”

Holden shared the second part is 25 minutes long and was filmed entirely on Dixie Lake in Springfield Township.
“The action sequence was completely shot on the water. Logistically, this is a nightmare, but my team pulled it off flawlessly,” Holden shared. “I wanted to pay homage to the film ‘The Great Outdoors’ where I got the idea of the action sequence.”
Holden plans to submit “#Momlife2” to films festival and is hosting a premiere screening this Friday at MJR Waterford Cinema, 7 – 8 p.m.
The event will begin with the showing with the first part of “#Momlife,” then part two will be shown followed by a question and answer session with the cast and crew.
Tickets are $20 each and all the proceeds will go to film festival submissions. There will also be raffles with gift baskets.
“We hope to get our concept out to as many festivals as possible in hopes to be able to fund part three or even film an entire feature,” Holden said.
“I am truly grateful for the overwhelming support and generosity shown by the community towards my film,” she added. “With over a dozen companies sponsoring me in exchange for social media posts and having their logos featured in the ending credits, I am humbled by the outpouring of support. Clarkston holds a special place in my heart, and I am deeply appreciative of all the encouragement and assistance received from the community. Thank you for believing in my vision and for helping bring it to life.”
