Collegiate academic achievements

Amelia Zyskowski, of Clarkston, has been named to the Knox College Dean’s List for the 2021 Winter term. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
Knox is located in Galesburg, Ill.

Gillian Steeno, of Clarkston, graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) during recent commencement ceremonies.
Steeno, an Anthropology and Psychology major, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in the College of Liberal Arts.
The university is located in Oxford, Miss.

Sydney Raupp, of Clarkston, recently participated in the University of Findlay’s 2021 Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity.
Raupp was named to The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 310 – Sophomore.
Undergraduate and graduate students were given the opportunity to virtually share their research, creativity, and professional learning experiences with the University and community, with many students receiving honors at the same time.
The university is located in Findlay, Ohio.

Alexander Gavulic, a 2017 Clarkston High School graduate, has graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Political Science, and Creative Writing.
He has been recognized with University Honors for every term he has been a student and received an Angell Scholar Award (three or more consecutive terms of all A’s) this past year. Gavulic also graduated with distinction and high honors thanks to his work on an Honors History thesis on the Immigration Act of 1924.
In addition, Gavulic has been accepted to and plans to attend the University of Michigan Law School this fall.
