It was an afternoon of smiles and hugs as the community came out for the Clarkston Boys Basketball State Champs Victory Parade and Celebration, March 29.
Before the parade kicked off Dan Fife, long time head coach for Clarkston Boys Varsity Basketball and former player, shared a few words.
“I want to thank all of you for your support,” he said to everyone gathered in Depot Park. “To look up in the bleachers on the day of the game and see 90 percent of Clarkston there was such a thrill and excitement for the players. It’s a great town, a great community. We couldn’t have done it without your support. I am so happy we can give Clarkston another championship.”
Guests shared kind words during the ceremony including Clarkston Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Rod Rock, Clarkston Athletic Director Jeff Kosin, Clarkston High School Principal Gary Kaul, Clarkston Mayor Steve Percival, Independence Township Supervisor Pat Kittle, State Representative Jim Tedder, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Fox Sports Detroit Personality Mickey York.
