The David W. Elliott Memorial Foundation of Clarkston recently awarded a grant of $30,000 to the Assistance League of Southeast Michigan.
The funds are for Operation School Bell, which provides elementary students in select local schools with a warm coat, hat, gloves, school clothes, hygiene kit, book and duffle bag. Schools that are selected have at least 90 percent of their students on the assisted lunch program.
The David W. Elliott Memorial Foundation has again covered the cost of outfitting an entire school of 500 students.
