Thirty Clarkston High School and Renaissance High School graduating seniors were inducted into an exclusive list of about 400 Scholar Students, honored by  Clarkston State Bank over the past 10 years.

“These moments don’t happen every day, savor them. Savor how you got here. Take the time to pause and absorb these moments of celebration,” said Superintendent Shawn Ryan at the May 9 breakfast ceremony at Fountains Golf and Banquet. “Stay focused on the right things, on family and friends. Take pride in whatever it is you do, and do it well. Don’t take things for granted and stick to your values.”

It took talent, character, perseverance,  hard work, and support from parents, family, schools, and friends to make the list, said Principal Gary Kaul.

“We’re very proud to recognize the top 25 Clarkston High School and five Renaissance High School scholar students,” Kaul said. “It speaks to the importance of relationships, and the cognitive, emotional, and social skills learned in Clarkston schools.”

CSB has been honoring Clarkston’s top graduates since opening its doors in 1999.

“We were very clear that our vision was to be a community bank and serve the community – this event satisfied that goal by supporting our schools and our future leaders,” said J. Grant Smith, president and CEO of Clarkston State Bank. “We continue to be impressed by the students and families in the community.”
