It was time for celebration last month for Dr. John Foster of Clarkston Family Dental, who celebrated his 25-year anniversary in practice on Nov. 11.
Foster was hired in by the previous owner, Dr. Michael Hennessy, and while working at the practice, met his future wife, Melissa, whose grandfather, Dr. Forrest Hunt, was the founder of Clarkston Family Dental more than 60 years ago in 1961, moving to its current address of 6778 Bluegrass Drive, back in 1975.
Dr. Foster bought Clarkston Family Dental in 2001, married Melissa in 2003, and has been here ever since.
Even though he was presented countless offers with other opportunities before purchasing, Dr. Foster said that “there was something about this place. I could feel it in my bones and nothing offered to me could change that.”
Being married to Clarkston Family Dental’s founder’s granddaughter, it has always been Dr. Foster’s goal to keep his office a family-run, family-centered practice.
