Hitting first in tournament

As the sluggers get further into the season, more players are leading their team to victory.
‘Nick Shamoun is really coming out,? said Clarkston coach Phil Price.
He was 2-for-2, two walks and two runs in the Wolves game at Birmingham Groves on Friday.
‘Two young guys came out,? said Price, talking about the weekend tournament. They were Cort Freeman and Chris Mocerino.
They played Groves and won, 12-7.
Joel Lange came in to pitch in the second inning.
Rob Sims hit 4-for-5. He had one home run and six RBIs.
Groves had four runs at the bottom of the first inning, but Clarkston took the lead away from them.

The boys took over the Chippewa Valley tournament on Saturday by taking first place.
They won their three games against Berkley, Warren Woods Tower, and Chippewa Valley.
They faced Berkley in the first game to win, 10-5.
Ryan O’Halloran was winning pitcher.
Joey Preston 2-for-4 with two doubles and Rob Sims hit a triple and three doubles.
Freeman hit 2-for-4 and Mocerino was 2-for-2.
They continued on and won their first shut-out of the season against Warren Woods Tower, 13-0.
Matt Kamieniecki pitched the five-inning game.
Shamoun hit 3-for-3, two runs and two RBIs; Kamieniecki hit 2-for-2 and had three RBIs; Sims hit 2-for-3 and had a triple; Joel Lange hit 2-for-2 and had a two run home run, and Luke Prudhomme hit a triple
‘A lot of kids hitting the ball,? said Price. ‘It was good for a second game on a Saturday.?
Prudhomme was the winning pitcher in the game against Chippewa Valley.
The Wolves scored 20 runs and won by ten points.
Richie Woods hit 2-for-3 with a grand slam and Tyler Scarlett was 2-for-4.
They had two losses earlier in the week. They lost to Lake Orion, 14-4, and to Royal Oak, 9-1.
The boys took first place in Roy Warner Classic on April 19.
The winning pitchers in the three games were Sims and Preston.
The leading hitters for the tournament were:
Tyler Scarlett, he hit 5-for-7 and had three RBIs; Prudhomme was 5-for-7 with seven RBIs, Sims was 4-for-6 with four RBIs; Smith was 4-for-7 with 4 RBIs; Mocerino 1-for-3 3 RBIs, Wood had 3 RBIs; Kamieniecki hit 2-for-3 and Freeman hit 2-for-2
The boys will stay at home this week as they host Troy, Farmington, Royal Oak and the Nathan Manuel Memorial.
They play Troy on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
They play Farmington on Friday and Royal Oak on Monday. Both games begin at 4 p.m.
Nathan Manuel Memorial is on Saturday. The first game begins at 10 a.m.
