Six skaters from the Clarkston and Davisburg area invite the community to their performance for their 2016 show with the Lakeland Skating Program on Monday, Dec. 12.
The event begins with a synchronized skating exhibition by Creative Edge at 5 p.m., followed by Grinchie On Ice, 5:30 p.m., which is based on How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Kristina Bauer, playing a school teacher; Alexis Brcezinski, preschool child; Madison Dryden, Whoville jingler; Erica Murrell, the Grinch’s love, Martha May; and Gabrielle Tuson, as the Heart of Whoville, are excited to for the audience to see their performance.
“It’s for all ages,” smiled Brcezinski.
“It’s an entertaining show,” Murrell said.
“You can see all the skaters and it gets you excited for the holidays,” Bauer added. “It is also fun to see all the skaters from the communities.”
Most of the ladies have skated since they began going to skate at the arena when they were three-years-old.
“We all build relationships,” Murrell said. “We have been skating together for a while and you will see it in the show and the characters interactions.”
“We represent a unique and special skating community which the values of family are the heart and soul of the program,” said Hollie Campagna, Director of Skating.
The holiday event builds up to the skaters’ spring show. It not only showcases what the skaters can do, but it also brings cheer around the holiday time to the community with the evening show and they have day shows for surrounding schools.
“With the show we are able to show more of our personalities than you would see in a competition,” Murrell added.
Admission to the event is free and seating is limited. Lakeland Skating Program is accepting donations of non-perishable food items for Open Door Outreach Center, a local food bank.
