Icers gain OT win in tournament

Clarkston Varsity Hockey opened the 2021 Thanksgiving Tourney at Cranbrook with a 3-2 overtime win over Detroit Country Day on Friday.
Both teams ended the first period scoreless then scored one goal each in the next two periods.
Cristian Walk led with one goal and one assists. Ron Wade and Devon Collis had one goal each. Brady Earing, Evan Adams, and Drew Stewart had one assist each.
Goalie Parker Pace saved 25 shots on the net.
The Wolves lost to Cranbrook on Saturday, 9-2.
The Kings scored the first two goals in the first period. Owen Croston scored for Clarkston with 8:17 remaining in the period before Cranbrook scored three more goals.
Dutch Snyder scored with 2:51 left in the second period with assists from Collis and Wade.
Pace had seven saves and Hunter had eight saves in the net. The Wolves took 20 shots on Cranbrook.
Clarkston opened the week with a 9-2 loss to Flint Powers Catholic, Nov. 24.
Wade and Collis scored one goal each in the second period. Wade, Adams, Croston and Tyler Pauly had one assist each. Smith had 13 saves and Pace had ten saves.
The Wolves (2-3) was scheduled to host M-1 Griffins on Thursday, Dec. 2 – ALL EVENTS FOR THE DAY WERE CANCELLED. They will host Lake Orion on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Detroit Skating Club. They play Livonia Franklin on Dec. 8 at Eddie Edgar Ice Arena, 8 p.m.
