Lacrosse record even with win, loss

The Wolves added one to each column last week as they came back from break. They lost to Troy-Athens on April 15, 19-7.
‘We didn’t look good that night,? said Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach Brian Kaminskas. ‘We had five starters out for the game and it showed we weren’t ready.?
The top performers of the night were Jordan Kincaid and Travis Craft – both adding two goals to the board. Goalie Jeff Turner had 17 saves during the game.
The boys turned things around by Saturday as they beat Rochester Adams, 5-4.
‘I don’t think the game was ever in question even though it was close,? said Kaminskas. ‘The boys came out extremely focused and ready to play. They were doing everything right.?
The boys never waivered even as the game became tighter towards the end of the night.
‘We took a couple of risks that didn’t pay off for us, but nobody panicked,? said Kaminskas.
Standing out was Kevin O’Grady, scoring two goals and Turner with 15 saves.
‘Jeff looked exceptional in the Adams game,? said Kaminskas. “We like to take risks ? the kids like it and I think it makes the game more fun.”
The boys play Farmington on Thursday.
‘They look like they are doing well,? Kaminskas said about their opponents. ‘We are expecting a good challenge and we are getting healthy again. We are having the right guys show their confidence and ready to play.?
JV begins at 5:30 p.m. and varsity follows.
They play Bloomfield United next Tuesday.
