Letter to the Editor: Special senior sendoff

Dear Editor,

The Clarkston High School Senior Class of 2022 recently had a full week of festivities and fun, including the Senior Picnic at Clintonwood Park.
Many preparations went into ensuring the picnic was a success. The sun was shining and a great time was had by all!
The Senior Celebrations Committee was responsible for putting together this event, along with many other senior-related activities that took place in the last few months of school. Yard signs around town proudly announcing a graduating senior, paw print-shaped “shoutouts” that were sold and posted around the high school, and of course, the picnic were just some plans put into action that helped celebrate this memorable time in the graduates’ lives.
Our committee would like to thank the many parents who contributed by purchasing a prize for the raffle, giving a gift card (which in all totaled hundreds of cards donated) to be raffled off, countless monetary donations, and those who volunteered their time to help the day of the event.
We sincerely thank you!
We’d also like to thank and recognize many local businesses (Ace Hardware of Clarkston, Allison Eye Care, Clarkston Area Optimist Club, Culver’s, EC-7 Solutions, Essence on Main, Glitz Salon, Hope Beauty Bar, Jimmy John’s, Leo’s Coney Island, Logos and Letters, Neiman’s Family Market, Player Prints, Premier Eye Care, Royal Diner, Spadafora and Zak Eye Care, Stannard, Studt, and Tironi Dentistry, and Tim Hortons) who generously gave prize baskets for the raffle, items to be raffled, and again, monetary donations that allowed us to purchase a variety of wonderful prizes for the grads attending college, and the ones pursuing a different path.
We were truly overwhelmed by the generosity of the Clarkston community and beyond.

Sincerely,
The 2022 Senior Celebrations Committee
