Clarkston Everest Collegiate Boys Varsity Basketball finished the season in the regional semifinal, 59-50, March 30.
Facing state champions Southfield Christian in their own gym, the Mountaineers didn’t let their opponent’s early lead dishearten them.
The Mountaineers reeled the Eagle back in quarter by quarter, taking the lead with 18 seconds to go. The Eagles answered with a 3-pointers with seconds to go, taking the game into overtime.
Michael McGrath led with the Mountaineers with 12 points. Lucas Cross and Joey Thibodeau both had 11 points.
Everest Collegiate Girls Varsity Soccer opened the season with a 1-1 tie at Bishop Foley, March 31. Chloe Antakli scored for the Mountaineers.
The Everest Competitive Cheer team finished in seventh place in their region meet, March 24.
They finished with a total score of 701.32 points, ranking them eighth in the state.
