Mountaineer Update for June 9, 2021

Mountaineers were victorious with two shutouts to claim the MHSAA Division 4 District 58 Girls Soccer Championship, June 3.
Clarkston Everest Collegiate defeated Montrose in the district semifinal on June 1, 8-0. They won their game against Oakland Christian in the district final, 6-0. Abby Milosch led with two goals. Celeste James, Chloe Antakali, Avery McNally and Celine Legg scored one goal each. The Mountaineers finished the regular season as CHSL Champions with a 2-1 win over Cranbrook, May 29.
The team played Laingsburg in the Regional 15 semifinal at Saginaw Valley Lutheran on Tuesday and lost 3-1. The winner moves on the regional final on Thursday, 5 p.m.

Clarkston Everest Collegiate Girls Tennis finished the season in tenth place during the MHSAA Division 4 State Finals in Kalamazoo with ten points, June 4-5.
Moorea McNalley finished as state champion on the Singles No. 1 court for Everest with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lilly Bobrowski from Traverse City St. Francis, who was seeded second.
McNalley went into the meet seeded first. She won her first match against Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Prep’s Ellie Skwiat, 6-0, 6-2. She also won matches over Portland’s Kayla Weller, 6-1, 6-0; and North Muskegon’s Alicia Hall, 6-1, 6-3.
Ayannah Siermanski, on Singles No. 2 court, lost her first round against Kate Schwartzfisher from Grand Rapids West Catholic, 6-0, 6-0.
Sage Schluessler, on Singles No. 3 court, lost her first round against Ava Coon from Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Prep, 6-1, 6-1.
Lilly Morgan, on Singles No. 3, also lost her first round. She lost to Lily Brown from Elk Rapids High School, 6-0, 6-0.
Lauren Marshall and Sydney Cooper, on Doubles No. 1, won 6-4 and 6-2 against Lilly Andrews and Sophia Jozwiak from Traverse City St. Francis. They lost to Gabby Gaston and Sarah Muzzy from North Muskegon High, 6-1, 6-0.
Bella Neiman and Andrea Gonzalvo, on Doubles No. 3, won their first match against Elizabeth Seavey and Xanthe Cross from Portland, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (1). They lost their next match to Tressa Hullinger and Ellie Knapp from Brandywine Senior High School, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Lauren Kolodsick and Eunho Jung, on Doubles No. 4, won their first match against Alexia Mugute and Alexis Brown, 6-3, 6-2. They lost their second match to Audrey Lee and Michelle Xia from Traverse City St. Francis, 6-7 (1), 6-4, 6-2.
Lucia DeNigris and Molly Burgess, on Doubles No. 2, lost their first round to Quinn White and Alexa Thompson from Jackson Lumen Christi, 6-3, 6-4. Mountaineers competed in the MHSAA Division 4 Track and Field State Finals in Hudsonville on Saturday.
Clarkston Everest Collegiate junior Jacob Jackson finished in ninth place in shot put with the distance of 43-03 and junior John Morrison finished in tenth place with 41-06.50.
For discus, Morrison finished in 19th place with a throw of 90-03; and Jackson finished in 20th place, 89-09.
Junior Gavin Ryeson finished in 13th place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.54.
For the girls, senior Theresa Waller finished in 16th place in the 3,200-meter run in the time of 13:58.72.
The 400-meter relay team with Erin Booms, Stephanie Suran, Sally McGrath and Jessie Burns finished in 17th place, 56.16.
The 3,200-meter relay team with Danielle Brown, Booms, Waller and Suran finished in 20th place, 12:15.84.
For field events, McGrath finished in 17th place in the discus with the distance of 84-06.
Everest Collegiate Varsity Baseball finished their season in a 6-4 loss to Genesee Christian in the MHSAA Division 4 District 127 Final on Friday. They won the semifinal game against Genesee, 15-0.
Everest Collegiate/Oakland Christian Co-op Softball team also finished their season in the district playoffs. They lost to Capac in the Division 1 District 90 final on Saturday, 14-1.
They won the semifinal game against Burton Bendle earlier in the day, 13-3.
