Mountaineer Update for May 25, 2022

Clarkston Everest Collegiate Girls Tennis team tied for second place at the MHSAA Division 4 Region 29 tournament last Thursday.
Everest and Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett finished with 16 points and Bloomfield Academy of the Sacred Heart finished as champions with 29 points.
The three teams head to the state finals in Ann Arbor, June 3-4.
Everest Collegiate Boys and Girls Track and Field teams competed in the MHSAA Division 4 Region 38 meet at Flint Beecher last Thursday.
The boys team finished in second place with 111 points. Flint Beecher finished first with 116 points.
Top finishes for the boys and qualifying for states included: in the 100-meter dash, John Morrison in fourth place with time of 11.47; Antonio Santoro, fifth, 11.49; Kevin Cronin, seventh, 11.64; 400-meter dash, Ravi Iyer, second, 54.91; 110-meter hurdles, Gavin Ryeson, first, 15.92; 300-meter hurdles, Ryeson, first, 42.44; shot put, Morrison, second, distance of 46-06; and discus, Jacob Jackson, second, 113-05.
The 400-meter relay team of Cronin, Santoro, Morrison and Ryeson qualified with a second place finish, 44.95.
The girls teams finished in third place with 63.5 points with only eight athletes. Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest finished in first place with 120 points and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s finished in second with 107.5 points
Kathleen Thibodeau qualified for the state finals in the 200-meter dash, finishing in first place with time of 28.19; and 100-meter dash, finishing in second place, 13.31.
The 400-meter relay team of Thibodeau, Stephanie Suran, Madelyn Krappmann and Jessie Burns finished in second place in the time of 55.01.
Highlights from the day included setting new records with 11 school records and 23 personal records.
The athletes compete in the CHSL Championship – Cardinal Division on Wednesday and in the Oakland County Championship this Friday at Clarkston High School, 2 p.m.
Everest Collegiate Boys Varsity Golf claimed the Catholic High School League Championship on Monday, May 16. They finished with 308 for first place out of ten teams. Parker Stalcup led the way as medalist and one under par with a 71. Remy Stalcup finished with 73; Will Pennanen, 79; Johnny Nedwick, 84; and James Schmitt, 96.
They host the MHSAA Division 4 Region 24 tournament at Fountains Golf on Tuesday, May 31.
Everest Collegiate Girls Varsity Soccer went into two overtimes to post a 1-0 win over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in the CHSL semifinal game. They lost to Cranbrook in the CHSL finals on Saturday, 2-1.
They opened the week with a 6-0 shut out over Faith Home School, May 16.
They compete in the MHSAA Girls Soccer Division 4 District 56 Semifinal on Tuesday, May 31. Location and time to be determined.
Everest Varsity Baseball lost their double header against Shrine on May 14, 13-0 and 4-2. They opened last week with a loss to Holly, May 17.
Everest Collegiate-Oakland Christian School Softball lost to Huron Valley Lutheran on May 17, 12-4.
