The Clarkston Area Optimist Club installed the new officers for 2016-2017 at Deer Lake Banquet Center, Sept. 27.
The board will be led by Kathy Middleton as president.
The Optimists also recently presented a $2,000 donation to the newly formed Clarkston High School Girls Field Hockey team for equipment.
The team is in their first season and provides a sport for 37 girls to participate in. The Clarkston Area Optimist Club has facilitated the giving of $49,800 to the Clarkston community organizations serving kids in 2016. The club meets from 7:30- 8:30 a.m., Wednesdays, at the Campbell Richmond Post #63 American Legion Hall, 8047 Ortonville Road.
