Optimists recognize fifth graders

Each school year, students from each of the seven elementary schools in the Clarkston Community Schools district are selected as Outstanding Student Citizens.
This program has been sponsored by the Clarkston Area Optimist Club for more than 20 years.
The principal selects the student with the help of the teachers. The Optimists give each winning student a plaque commemorating this achievement.
An award ceremony is also held where the principal and teacher have an opportunity to say why they selected these students.
