Post-season ends for grapplers

Clarkston Varsity Wrestling went 1-1 in a dual meet at Macomb Dakota, March 11.
The Wolves won their dual against Utica Ford, 45-27. John Lord opened the match with a fall against Robert Lawrence in the 171-pound weight class, 53 seconds.
The Wolves had four more falls coming from: Collin Trevino (215) against Tristan Dalbec, 2:19; Darian Shelton (125) against John Plevinski, 1:09; Ryan Rector (130) against Andrew Kovach, 1:21; and Gabriel Gipe against Ryan Yantus, 5:29.
Hayden Payne (189) put five points on the board for Clarkston with a technical fall over Mark Grossen, 23-8.
Drew Stark won his match against Nathan Pluger with a 13-3 major decision and Mitchell Murray (103) won his match by a void.
The Wolves opened the night with a loss to Macomb Dakota, 39-21.
Lord started the scoring with a 11-4 win over Robbie Dameron in the 160-pound weight class.
Grady Castle (171) followed with a pin on Aiden Dale, two minutes.
The next four wins came from Payne over Aiden Criteser, 10-3; Jackson Vogt (215) over Josh Stokes, 9-5; Stark over Anthony Coleman, 10-5; and Ashton Anderson over Austin Alkazier, 3-1.
The Wolves head to Waterford Mott this Wednesday for the MHSAA Division 1 Team Wrestling District 105.
They will compete against Troy in the semifinal round. The winner moves on to compete against the Waterford Kettering/Waterford Mott winner. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m.
The Wolves compete in the individual district on Saturday.
