Public Notice: Waldon Village II amendments, first reading approval

CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF INDEPENDENCE
NOTICE OF
MAJOR PUD AMENDMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at a regular meeting of the Charter Township of Independence Board of Trustees held on July 6, 2021, the Township Board approved the First Reading for a proposed major amendment to phases I, III, IV, and V to the site plan for a Planned Unit Development (“PUD”) commonly known as “Waldon Village II.”
Such amendments approved for first reading include: 1) amendment to phase I, “Towns at Waldon Village” to reflect 132 for-sale Townhomes; 2) amendment to phase III, to increase acreage from 9.92 acres to 11.3 acres and increase in square footage from 85,975 sf to 86,000 sf; 3) amendment to phase III to increase the number of for-sale condos from 51 to 78; and an amendment to phase V to decrease the “park” area from 16.7 acres to 7 acres, which is proposed to be restricted as private open space for the benefit of Phases I, II, III, and IV of the Development and their successors and assigns. The second reading will be scheduled following the completion of legal documents and review by legal counsel.
A true copy of the proposed Ordinance Amendment is on file and available for viewing between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Independence Township’s Clerk’s Office, 6483 Waldon Center Drive, Clarkston, Michigan 48346.
The motion to approve this rezoning was moved by Trustee Nallamothu, Seconded by Trustee Ritchie.
The vote on the motion was as follows: Yes: 7; Absent: 0; No: 0. The motion carried.
