Runners place at county meet, head to states

The track teams put their best foot forward as they competed against 50 teams at the Oakland County Meet last Friday.
‘It was one of the fastest county meets in the last few years,? said Coach Andrew McDonald. ‘For a couple of the athletes this was their last meet of their season or maybe even their track career.?
The girls teams finished 14th and placed in seven events.
Katherine Bosetti set a school record in the pole vault with 10? and took third place.
Sarah Hillebrand set a new freshman record in the pole vault, 8?6? and placed eighth behind teammate Molly Bonfiglio, who placed seventh.
Kate Wolanin took sixth place in 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles.
Wolanin helped her teammates, Shannon Seeley, Megan Seeley and Hannah George place fifth in the 1600 meter relay.
The boys placed 24th out of 50 teams.
Sir Ralph Rodriguez threw his season best in the shot put with 48?10 and placed fifth.
Austin Westmoreland also took fifth place and set his season best in his pole vault event at 12?6.?
‘It has been a real satisfying season and there are four athletes that are looking forward to competing in the State Finals in East Kentwood this coming weekend,? said McDonald.
Wolanin, Shannon Seeley, Megan Seeley and George will be heading to states to compete in the 1600 relay.
Wolanin will compete in the 100 meter hurdles.
