SafeTAlk training

St. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and Oakland County Suicide Prevention Task Force host a SafeTALK training at the church, 7925 Sashabaw Road, on Sundays, Jan. 19, Feb. 23, and March 15, all from 12-3:30 p.m.
Trainers will prepare those over the age of 15 to become a suicide-alert helper, learning to recognize verbal and nonverbal signs from people with thoughts of suicide and take action by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources.
Guest speaker is Kris Miller of Waterford, founder of the blog “On a Dragonfly’s Wings” who will speak in memory of her son Nikolai Miller.
The three sessions are identical. Registration is required by calling 248-625-4644 or emailing office@sainttrinitylutheran.com. Space is limited to 30 attendees in January, and 40 attendees in February and March. Light lunch will be provided by St. Trinity members and youth group.
